Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 6.52%), Reliance Power(up 5.00%), K.P.I. Global Infras(up 4.84%), NTL(up 4.76%), Orient Green Power Company(up 4.55%), Inox wind(up 4.32%), Torrent Power(up 3.62%), DPSC(up 2.91%), Tata Power Company(up 2.49%) and ABBPP&SLTD(up 1.80%) stood among the top gainers.
Indowind Energy(down 4.57%), KEC International(down 3.43%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 3.13%), Jyoti Structures(down 2.44%), PTC India(down 1.76%), JSW Energy(down 1.62%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.20%), Alstom T&D India(down 1.16%), NHPC(down 1.10%) and Voltamp Transformers(down 0.91%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 40.7 points down at 17888.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 109.4 points at 60029.06.
Maruti Suzuki(up 2.31%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.98%), NTPC(up 1.75%), State Bank of India(up 1.16%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.13%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 1.08%), Bajaj Finance(up 0.56%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.49%), Axis Bank(up 0.47%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.44%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Tata Steel(down 3.75%), Grasim Industries(down 2.51%), JSW Steel(down 2.34%), Tech Mahindra(down 2.07%), Hindalco Industries(down 2.04%), HCL Technologies(down 1.56%), Reliance Industries(down 1.46%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.35%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.3%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.2%) closed in the red.
