Shares of Pfizer(up 5.03 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 2.96 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(up 1.66 per cent), Natco Pharma(up 1.34 per cent) and Alembic Pharmaceuticals(up 1.06 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Divis Laboratories(down 5.98 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 2.62 per cent), Abbott India(down 1.33 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(down 1.32 per cent) and Granules India(down 0.82 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.7 per cent down at 13851.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 151.75 points at 18068.55, while the BSE Sensex stood up 477.99 points at 60545.61.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 ended in the green, while 11 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank India and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of IRIS Business Servic, Allied Digital, D P Abhushan, VRL Logistics and Max Ventures Ind hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Destiny Logistics & Infra Ltd., Jiya Eco Products Lt, Airo Lam, CarTrade Tech Ltd. and Opto Circuits hit their fresh 52-week lows.
