Pfizer(up 5.07 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 0.16 per cent) and Natco Pharma(up 0.11 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Divis Laboratories(down 7.61 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 3.34 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(down 2.43 per cent), Lupin(down 1.42 per cent) and Gland Pharma(down 1.36 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was down 1.7 per cent at 13711.1 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 24.0 points at 17892.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 92.79 points at 59974.83.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.
