Bandhan Bank(up 2.38 per cent), RBLBANK(up 1.17 per cent), IDFCBANK(up 0.67 per cent) and Federal Bank(up 0.29 per cent) were among the top gainers.
IndusInd Bank(down 2.17 per cent), ICICI Bank(down 1.3 per cent), State Bank of India(down 0.88 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.8 per cent) and AU Small Finance Bank(down 0.79 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.82 per cent at 39047.4 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 88.35 points at 17955.9, while the BSE Sensex was down 293.48 points at 60139.97.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.
