Mindtree(down 1.03 per cent), Coforge(down 0.96 per cent), Infosys(down 0.61 per cent), MPhasis(down 0.54 per cent) and HCL Technologies(down 0.38 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.32 per cent at 35700.8 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 84.15 points at 17960.1, while the BSE Sensex was down 299.76 points at 60133.69.
