NTL(down 4.65%), GE Power India Limited(down 1.74%), Tata Power Company(down 1.24%), DPSC(down 0.93%), NTPC(down 0.87%), Adani Transmissions(down 0.79%), KEC International(down 0.71%), Suzlon Energy(down 0.70%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 0.68%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.62%) were among the top losers.
The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 75.35 points down at 17968.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 249.82 points at 60183.63 at around 11:21AM.
Mahindra & Mahindra(up 3.09%), UPL Ltd(up 2.5%), Britannia Industries(up 2.19%), Bharti Airtel(up 1.56%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.89%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.76%), Indian Oil Corporation(up 0.72%), Cipla(up 0.69%), Eicher Motors(up 0.61%) and Reliance Industries(up 0.61%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Tata Steel(down 2.82%), Hindalco Industries(down 2.66%), JSW Steel(down 2.45%), IndusInd Bank(down 2.31%), Coal India(down 2.08%), Divis Laboratories(down 1.49%), Asian Paints(down 1.48%), HDFC(down 1.43%), ICICI Bank(down 1.39%) and Titan Company Ltd(down 1.08%) were trading in the red.
