NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Monday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 127.88 points up at 60814.57 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Captain Pipes(down 19.99 per cent), S R G Sec. Fin.(down 19.23 per cent), Vasundhara Rasayans(down 16.06 per cent), Spencer’s Retail Ltd.(down 14.88 per cent) and Singer India(down 13.90 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 27 stocks traded in the green, while 23 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 33.95 points up at 18136.7.
On the BSE, S R G Sec. Fin., IOL Chemicals, Arihant Institute, Trans Financial and Jiya Eco Products Lt hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Sigachi Industries Ltd., PB Fintech Ltd., Mirza Intnl, Lovable Lingerie and Ansal Buildwell touched their fresh 52-week highs.
