Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Wednesday at 10:19AM

Varun Beverages(up 1.61%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 1.07%), Dodla Dairy(up 0.70%), DFM Foods(up 0.64%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.63%), Hind.Foods(up 0.39%), Heritage Foods(up 0.27%), Nakoda Group(up 0.15%), Umang Dairies(up 0.13%) and Zydus Wellness(up 0.03%) were among the top gainers.

Emami(down 1.36%), Parag Milk(down 0.85%), Prataap Snacks(down 0.83%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 0.82%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 0.73%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 0.69%), Vadilal Industries(down 0.66%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 0.65%), Bajaj Consumer(down 0.65%) and Hindustan Unilever(down 0.57%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 30.8 points down at 17968.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 82.51 points at 60239.86 at around 10:19AM.

Tata Motors(up 2.25%), SBI Life(up 2.1%), State Bank of India(up 1.68%), Asian Paints(up 1.62%), NTPC(up 1.41%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.38%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.25%), Bajaj Finance(up 0.96%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.8%) and ITC(up 0.79%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, UPL Ltd(down 1.69%), Reliance Industries(down 1.16%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 1.11%), Cipla(down 1.04%), Tata Consultancy(down 0.91%), Axis Bank(down 0.89%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.87%), HDFC(down 0.86%), Coal India(down 0.79%) and HCL Technologies(down 0.75%) were trading in the red.
