Nakoda Group(up 4.96%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 2.25%), Varun Beverages(up 2.03%), P & G Hygiene(up 0.43%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.35%), ADF Foods(up 0.13%) and Dabur India(up 0.12%) stood among the top gainers.
Vadilal Industries(down 2.64%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 2.59%), Future Consumer(down 2.14%), Emami(down 2.05%), Jyothy Labs(down 2.03%), DFM Foods(down 1.89%), Marico(down 1.80%), Prataap Snacks(down 1.54%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 1.47%) and JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 1.42%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 133.85 points down at 17764.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 372.32 points at 59636.01.
State Bank of India(up 1.13%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.76%), Indian Oil Corporation(up 0.7%), HDFC Bank(up 0.56%), Divis Laboratories(up 0.46%), Reliance Industries(up 0.38%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.35%) and ICICI Bank(up 0.21%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Tata Motors(down 3.86%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 3.22%), Tech Mahindra(down 3.13%), Larsen & Toubro(down 2.86%), HCL Technologies(down 2.8%), Tata Steel(down 2.74%), Eicher Motors(down 2.65%), IndusInd Bank(down 2.47%), Hero MotoCorp(down 2.35%) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 2.05%) closed in the red.
