However, stocks such as One97 Communications Ltd., Fino Payments Bank Ltd., SJS Enterprises Ltd., RPP Infra Proj(PP)and Nidan Laboratories And Healthcare Ltd., touched their fresh 52-week lows.
Overall, 8 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 42 closed in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, SBI, Power Grid, Indian Oil Corp., HDFC Bank and Divis Labs were among top gainers during the day, while Tata Motors, M&M, Tech Mahindra, L&T and HCL Tech ended in the red.
The BSE Sensex closed 372.32 points down at 59636.01.
Traders piled up positions in IT Enabled Services, InvIT, Rubber, Banks and FMCG sectors, while selling was witnessed in Miscellaneous, Tourism & Hospitality, Learning & Education, Services and Industrial Consumables sectors during the day.
