Southern Petrochemicals Industries(down 5.81%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(down 5.04%), Bohra Industries(down 5.00%), Sikko Industries(down 4.93%), Agro Phos(down 4.83%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(down 4.51%), Coromandel International(down 4.46%), ZUARIAGRO(down 4.25%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 3.76%) and Aries Agro(down 3.52%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 348.25 points down at 17416.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 1170.12 points at 58465.89.
Bharti Airtel(up 3.88%), Asian Paints(up 1.07%), JSW Steel(up 0.99%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.88%), Hindalco Industries(up 0.42%), Cipla(up 0.35%), Britannia Industries(up 0.28%) and Grasim Industries(up 0.21%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Bajaj Finance(down 5.7%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 5.02%), Bajaj Finserv(down 4.73%), Tata Motors(down 4.63%), Reliance Industries(down 4.43%), NTPC(down 3.81%), Indian Oil Corporation(down 3.75%), Titan Company Ltd(down 3.51%), State Bank of India(down 3.45%) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 3.41%) closed in the red.
