TIINDIA(up 1.03 per cent), MRF(up 0.8 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 0.74 per cent), Tata Motors(up 0.63 per cent) and Ashok Leyland(up 0.44 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Maruti Suzuki(down 1.2 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(down 0.67 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 0.67 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 0.58 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.31 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.18 per cent at 11435.15 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 60.0 points at 17563.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 180.92 points at 58845.25.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.
