Global Infras(up 4.98%), Orient Green Power Company(up 4.97%), Adani Transmissions(up 4.78%), Reliance Power(up 4.78%), Energy Development Company(up 4.75%), Indowind Energy(up 4.68%), ABBPP&SLTD(up 3.58%) and JSW Energy(up 2.99%) stood among the top gainers.
PIGL(down 4.87%), Karma Energy(down 4.47%), KEC International(down 1.69%), Adani Power(down 0.80%), NLC India(down 0.61%), NHPC(down 0.48%), PTC India(down 0.34%) and NTPC(down 0.11%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 121.2 points up at 17536.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 454.1 points at 58795.09.
Reliance Industries(up 6.02%), Divis Laboratories(up 2.5%), ITC(up 1.58%), Infosys(up 1.56%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.38%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.18%), Grasim Industries(up 1.13%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 1.11%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.08%) and Titan Company Ltd(up 0.92%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Indian Oil Corporation(down 1.53%), Britannia Industries(down 1.38%), Maruti Suzuki(down 1.26%), ICICI Bank(down 1.2%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.14%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.12%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.08%), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.01%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.81%) and Shree Cement(down 0.79%) closed in the red.
