Shares of TIINDIA(up 2.49 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries(up 1.16 per cent), MRF(up 1.1 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(up 0.53 per cent) and TVS Motor Company(up 0.32 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.8 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 1.78 per cent), Bajaj Auto(down 1.76 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.67 per cent) and Ashok Leyland(down 1.28 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.94 per cent down at 10603.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 70.75 points at 16983.2, while the BSE Sensex stood down 195.71 points at 57064.87.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 ended in the green, while 29 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Zomato Ltd., Tata Power, YES Bank and REC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Go Fashion(India)Ltd., KPIT Tech, Timken India, Orient Electric and Lovable Lingerie hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Quadpro ITeS Ltd., Nidan Laboratories And Healthcare Ltd., DCB Bank, Gulf Oil India and CreditAccess Grameen hit their fresh 52-week lows.
