Overall, 9 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 41 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.
In the Nifty 50 index, ONGC, Tata Steel,
, GAIL and Grasim Industries were among top gainers, while Bajaj Finance, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Eicher Motors and BPCL were trading in red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 498.09 points down at 48682.22. Traders were seen piling up position in Diversified, IT – Hardware, Metals – Ferrous, Sugar and Mining sectors, while selling were visible in Plastics, Infrastructure, Consumer Durables, Electric/Electronics and Services sectors.
