Shares of Mindtree (up 1.22 per cent), MPhasis (up 1.1 per cent), Tata Consultancy (up 0.67 per cent) and Infosys (up 0.54 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Oracle Financial Services Software (down 2.81 per cent), HCL Technologies (down 2.3 per cent), Wipro (down 0.99 per cent), Tech Mahindra (down 0.64 per cent) and Larsen & Toubro Infotech (down 0.5 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.04 per cent down at 29252.5.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 120.3 points at 15632.1, while the BSE Sensex stood down 354.89 points at 52198.51.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 ended in the green, while 40 closed in the red.

Shares of Laxmi Cotspin, Precision Camshaft, Ramco Ind, Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd. and Steel City Securitie hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Walpar Nutritions Ltd., GFL Ltd., AKG Exim Ltd., Shubhlaxmi Jewel Art and SKS Textiles hit their fresh 52-week lows.
