Shares of AU Small Finance Bank (up 2.18 per cent), Federal Bank (up 1.8 per cent), RBLBANK (up 0.86 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.8 per cent) and HDFC Bank (up 0.58 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, State Bank of India (down 2.21 per cent), Axis Bank (down 1.16 per cent), IndusInd Bank (down 1.11 per cent), ICICI Bank (down 0.73 per cent) and Bandhan Bank (down 0.43 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.31 per cent down at 34584.35.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 15.4 points at 15763.05, while the BSE Sensex stood down 66.23 points at 52586.84.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red.

Shares of Walpar Nutritions Ltd., Vidhi Specialty Food, FairchemSpeciality, TPL Plastech and Indian Metals hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Bright Solar, Viceroy Hotels, Suryoday Small Finance Bank Ltd., Alembic Pharma and Keerti Knowledge hit their fresh 52-week lows.
