MPhasis (up 3.47 per cent), Tata Consultancy (up 1.72 per cent), Wipro (up 0.86 per cent), Infosys (up 0.85 per cent) and Tech Mahindra (up 0.63 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Larsen & Toubro Infotech (down 0.65 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software (down 0.32 per cent), HCL Technologies (down 0.23 per cent) and Mindtree (down 0.08 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was up 0.91 per cent at 31082.75 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 91.7 points at 15976.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 354.17 points at 53304.8.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.
