Shares of Cipla (up 0.61 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories (up 0.28 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma (up 0.17 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 0.05 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories (up 0.03 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Divis Laboratories (down 0.82 per cent), Lupin (down 0.6 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals (down 0.56 per cent), Cadila Healthcare (down 0.54 per cent) and Biocon (down 0.38 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.1 per cent down at 14579.85.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 35.8 points at 16294.6, while the BSE Sensex stood up 123.07 points at 54492.84.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 ended in the green, while 26 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, IDFC First Bank, SAIL, YES Bank and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Andrew Yule, Grauer & Weil, Kovai Medical, PVP Ventures Ltd. and D P Wires hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Suryoday Small Finance Bank Ltd., SKS Textiles, Transwind Infrastruc, Silgo Retail and Keerti Knowledge hit their fresh 52-week lows.
