Bajaj Auto (up 1.58 per cent), TIINDIA (up 1.42 per cent), MRF (up 1.04 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (up 0.95 per cent) and Bosch (up 0.79 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Ashok Leyland (down 3.22 per cent), Eicher Motors (down 2.77 per cent), TVS Motor Company (down 0.49 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (down 0.33 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp (down 0.25 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was up 0.09 per cent at 10189.3 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 74.6 points at 16439.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 251.25 points at 55095.23.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, Suzlon Energy and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Technocraft Ind, Kovai Medical, N R Agarwal Ind, Vinyl Chemicals and Pudumjee Paper Prod hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Shubhlaxmi Jewel Art, Future Market, Viceroy Hotels, YES Bank and Radha Madhav hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
