TIINDIA (up 1.09 per cent), Balkrishna Industries (up 0.63 per cent), Bharat Forge (up 0.29 per cent), Tata Motors (up 0.26 per cent) and Bosch (up 0.18 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Eicher Motors (down 1.55 per cent), Exide Industries (down 1.19 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (down 1.02 per cent), Ashok Leyland (down 0.92 per cent) and Amara Raja Batteries (down 0.9 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.39 per cent at 9866.05 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 55.9 points at 16506.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 227.46 points at 55556.78.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.
