Shares of HCL Technologies (up 0.56 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Wipro (down 1.79 per cent), Mindtree (down 1.2 per cent), Tata Consultancy (down 1.09 per cent), Coforge (down 0.84 per cent) and Infosys (down 0.79 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.78 per cent down at 34678.2.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 8.6 points at 17353.5, while the BSE Sensex stood down 29.22 points at 58250.26.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 ended in the green, while 23 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank, PNB and Trident Ltd were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Rex Pipes and Cables Industries Ltd., Alphageo , Goldiam Intnl, Kamdhenu and Arman Financial hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Nandani Creation, Jalan Transolutions, Inventure Grwth and Ujjivan Financial hit their fresh 52-week lows.
