Shares of Amara Raja Batteries (up 2.64 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 2.19 per cent), Tata Motors (up 1.49 per cent), Ashok Leyland (up 1.38 per cent) and Bajaj Auto (up 1.38 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Exide Industries (down 0.76 per cent) and Bosch (down 0.11 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.88 per cent up at 10209.6.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 24.7 points at 17380.0, while the BSE Sensex stood up 69.33 points at 58247.09.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 ended in the green, while 18 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Zee Ent., Zomato Ltd. and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Ami Organics Ltd., Vijaya Diagnostic Centre Ltd., Dev Information Tech, Cosmo Films and Man Infracons hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd., Grand Foundry, Varroc Engg. and Inventure Grwth hit their fresh 52-week lows.
