Shares of Larsen & Toubro Infotech (up 0.76 per cent), MPhasis (up 0.61 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 0.22 per cent), Mindtree (up 0.09 per cent) and HCL Technologies (up 0.02 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Tata Consultancy (down 1.93 per cent), Infosys (down 0.64 per cent), Wipro (down 0.39 per cent), Coforge (down 0.38 per cent) and Oracle Financial Services Software (down 0.34 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.57 per cent down at 35646.5.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 44.35 points at 17585.15, while the BSE Sensex stood down 141.46 points at 58999.7.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 ended in the green, while 32 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, PNB, ITC and Zee Ent. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Bodhi Tree Multimed, Surya Roshni, RPP Infra Proj, Thirumalai Chem and TPL Plastech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Ganesh Benzo, Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd., Shanti Overseas (Ind, Krsnaa Diagnostics Ltd. and Intnl Conveyors hit their fresh 52-week lows.
