IDFCBANK (up 1.22 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 1.08 per cent), RBLBANK (up 0.77 per cent) and AU Small Finance Bank (up 0.63 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Punjab National Bank (down 0.88 per cent), Federal Bank (down 0.72 per cent), ICICI Bank (down 0.72 per cent), State Bank of India (down 0.68 per cent) and Bandhan Bank (down 0.59 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.25 per cent at 37715.9 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 13.65 points at 17571.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 118.88 points at 58897.01.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.
