NEW DELHI: Several stocks gained in excess of 15% in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
Sarthak Metals(up 19.58%), Prime Fresh(up 15.97%) and Akashdeep Metal(up 15.81%) were among the stocks that surged over 15%.
The 30-share index, BSE was trading 393.32 points down at 59274.28, while the 50-share index, NSE was 99.9 points down at 17648.7.
In the Nifty50 index, 18 stocks traded in the green, while 32 stocks were in the red.
Stocks such as Sarthak Metals, Akashdeep Metal, Simmonds Marsh, NTC Industries and Imagicaaworld Entert hit their fresh 52-week high, while Milgrey Finance, Superior Finlease, Scanpoint Geo(PP), Shree Manufact and Jupiter Infomed touched their new 52-week low during the session.
