Shares of Coforge(up 0.73 per cent) and Wipro(up 0.34 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, MPhasis(down 2.52 per cent), Tata Consultancy(down 1.2 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software(down 0.96 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 0.68 per cent) and Infosys(down 0.6 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.71 per cent down at 34780.6.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 86.1 points at 17532.05, while the BSE Sensex stood down 360.78 points at 58765.58.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red.
