Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 162.5 points to 18501.05 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Destiny Logistics & Infra Ltd., Jiya Eco Products Lt, Dynamic Services & Security Ltd., Pasupati Acrylon and Inventure Grwth, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 38 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 12 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Hindalco, Tata Motors, JSW Steel, Titan Company and Infosys were among top gainers, while HCL Tech, Asian Paints, Dr. Reddys, Bajaj Auto and Eicher Motors traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 481.18 points up at 61787.13 at 11:21AM(IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Metals – Non Ferrous, Metals – Ferrous, Defence, Trading and Gems and Jewellery sectors, while selling was visible in Learning & Education, Agriculture/Horticulture/Livestock, Services, Retail and Power sectors.
