NEW DELHI: Several stocks gained in excess of 15% in Mumbai trading on Monday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the green amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
Panchmahal Steel(up 19.97%), Odyssey Tech(up 19.93%) and Walchand People(up 19.23%) were among the stocks that surged over 15%.
The 30-share index, BSE was trading 459.23 points up at 59766.16, while the 50-share index, NSE was 137.15 points up at 17808.8.
In the Nifty50 index, 41 stocks traded in the green, while 9 stocks were in the red.
Stocks such as Panchmahal Steel, TAAL Enterprises, K P Energy Ltd., Precision Wires and LG Balakrishnan hit their fresh 52-week high, while Adishakti Loha and Ispat Ltd., K-Lifestyle Ind, ACE Edutrend, ThirdwaveFinIntrm and Systematix Sec touched their new 52-week low during the session.
