The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 67.45 points down at 17831.2, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 177.59 points at 59830.74 at around 10:04AM.
Bajaj Finserv(up 0.74%), Bajaj Finance(up 0.73%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.71%), State Bank of India(up 0.57%), NTPC(up 0.55%), HDFC Bank(up 0.5%), Asian Paints(up 0.47%), Hindalco Industries(up 0.43%), ICICI Bank(up 0.37%) and Maruti Suzuki(up 0.25%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Tata Motors(down 2.66%), HCL Technologies(down 2.03%), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.8%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.59%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.58%), Eicher Motors(down 1.48%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.39%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.35%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.33%) and Tata Consultancy(down 1.27%) were trading in the red.
