Aurobindo Pharma(down 3.31 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 2.47 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 2.2 per cent), Biocon(down 2.19 per cent) and Laurus(down 1.95 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was down 1.48 per cent at 13420.95 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 138.1 points at 17760.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 414.9 points at 59593.43.
