Energy Development Company(up 4.90%), Orient Green Power Company(up 4.76%), CESC(up 4.73%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(up 3.96%), Tata Power Company(up 2.88%), RTNPOWER(up 2.70%), Torrent Power(up 2.58%), Voltamp Transformers(up 2.42%), JSW Energy(up 2.33%) and NTL(up 2.33%) were among the top gainers.
Indowind Energy(down 4.85%), Karma Energy(down 2.75%), GE Power India Limited(down 1.65%), Adani Transmissions(down 1.59%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(down 1.12%), ADANIGREEN(down 0.97%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 0.70%) and Alstom T&D India(down 0.48%) were among the top losers.
The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 43.6 points down at 17372.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 258.91 points at 58206.98 at around 10:55AM.
JSW Steel(up 4.18%), Tata Steel(up 3.15%), Divis Laboratories(up 2.46%), Coal India(up 1.89%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.85%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.61%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.61%), Britannia Industries(up 1.35%), Tata Motors(up 1.15%) and NTPC(up 1.08%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, IndusInd Bank(down 3.07%), Infosys(down 1.85%), Asian Paints(down 1.79%), Reliance Industries(down 1.19%), ICICI Bank(down 1.14%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.09%), Shree Cement(down 0.85%), UltraTech Cement(down 0.71%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.69%) and SBI Life(down 0.68%) were trading in the red.
