Jhaveri– who retired from Citi Bank India in 2019 after a near-decade long tenure– was co-opted as a trustee in Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, one of the two main Tata trusts that holds a significant stake in Tata Sons, the main holding company of the group last year.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Jhaveri’s role as Advisor to Premji Invest began in January this year. He is also a trustee on the board of New York-based World Monuments Fund.
Premji Invest did not respond to ET’s queries seeking comments on Jhaveri’s role till press time. Jhaveri could not be reached immediately.
Premji Invest focuses on investments to help the expansion of medium-sized Indian companies , it has investments across sectors like consumer, finance , technology and manufacturing.
In a banking career spanning over three decades, Jhaveri has worked extensively on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions as well as global and local financing deals. Before taking charge as chief executive, he was the vice chairman of Global Banking and Head of Investment Banking at Citi India for more than a decade.
